POWER OF MEDITATION

Good morning Monday. I hope you all had a great weekend. Let's start your week off right by talking about something many of you have probably never tried......meditation! Meditation is a powerful tool for stressful times, depression, times of illness, or simple relaxation. In order to be 100% healthy, one must mentally calm, steady, and emotionally stable, which we know is NOT so easy to do. Daily stresses like running late, your 40 hour work week, drama with their relationships or family, can easily ruin your whole day.

The goal of meditation is to focus on your mind, body, and spirit in each very moment. It is a vital tool to relaxation and ridding off bad energy. We're surrounded by all kinds of environments everyday, good or bad. It can get chaotic  not to mention exhausting! The words you hear from other people around you can create harmful emotions like jealousy or anger. Meditation is your time to just be at peace with yourself. It makes your body feel full of oxygen and less filled with depression, anxiety, or negative emotions.

If you've never tried it before, you really should! To some, it might sound silly, but I have had such a great success with it!

Here's just a quick list of tips for any newbies:

  • Sit or lay down in a quiet room or out in nature (No TV or phone!)
  • Keep the lights on or dimmed low
  • DON'T fall asleep! The key is to become in a complete state of relaxation with a clear mind
  • Begin by breathing deeply, eyes closed
  • Relax every muscle in your body, starting from you toes up to your head
  • Think in your head "Breathe in, breathe out"
  • If any other thoughts come into your mind, let them pass, then begin again with "breathe in, breathe out." It takes practice and discipline! Don't get discouraged if your not 'perfect.'
  • Set a 15-30 minute window in your schedule everyday.
Refresh your mind on your work break

I promise you will see a difference in your mood and overall well being after a week! If you don't want to be in silence, a quick "meditation music" or "guided meditation" YouTube search will do you justice. When you try it out, leave a comment! Did you see a difference? What was the hardest part for you?

Namaste, XO
